There’s nothing better than puffing a bowl filled with a heavy hitting strain of indica bud to help calm the mind before falling asleep at night. The high that comes along with indicas is most thought of as the stereotypical “couch-locked” experience that naive people might think of when they picture a “so-called” stoner. Indica strains are generally more sedating and produce a full body high, perfect for unwinding after a long day. I’m not usually a huge fan of indicas based on the fact that they cause me to lose pretty much all of my motivation, but once in a while it’s nice to come across a strain that gets the job done after just a few hits and leaves you feeling completely relaxed. Tahoe OG is just the strain to do so…and let me also say that it is STRONG!
If you are going to try out some Tahoe OG, I recommend doing so before going to bed, or on a rainy day when you plan to just sit around. Almost immediately after smoking, I found myself losing all motivation and was extremely lethargic. My eyes felt heavy and when smoking at night time, it put me to sleep almost instantly. It would be excellent to smoke some Tahoe OG before watching a movie because it gets your thoughts going and zones you in to some pretty deep thinking at times. Tahoe would also be beneficial for those suffering from insomnia, PTSD and migraines. It’s also a good option to help cope with pain and for the ladies, smoking some Tahoe can help positively combat those irritable PMS symptoms you may be dealing with. At other times, consuming it can leave you feeling spacey and a bit loopy…bring on the giggles and goofy grins. Even though it’s probably not the best weed to smoke before doing something active like a hike, I tried doing so anyways, and while it did help to enhance the overall experience, as cannabis generally does, I would still opt for a sativa instead.
Now, imagine biting in to a pine tree that’s sitting high a top the snow covered Rocky Mountains. Can you taste that fresh, earthy, pine taste? That’s the winter-green flavor that Tahoe OG has to it, and after trying to describe this unique taste with others, this is what we could compare it to (can you tell we were high when coming up with this description?). Don’t get me wrong, it’s not minty in any way, but more of an earthy pine taste, even featuring some subtle sweet tones throughout. It’s definitely a different taste, paired with a very potent and pungent strain.
If you medicate as a way to help boost your appetite, this strain will definitely, and I mean definitely get the job done there. I have never experienced more of a craving for munchies than after smoking this heavy-hitting strain, and really don’t think that I’m alone here either. If you prefer to smoke before meals in order to loosen up the stomach, make this your go-to next time, and be prepared to eat.
Overall, this is a strain that has its perfect time and place of use. Even if you’re not a big fan of the indicas, the sensation that you’ll get from Tahoe OG is unlike any other, and might just get you to change your mind. If you are ever lucky enough to come across some Double Tahoe, which can be made exclusively by putting the pollen from a healthy male Tahoe seeds onto a female Tahoe when it’s in flower, planting the seeds that the female Tahoe then produces, and finally picking the new female plans.
