Apparently Snoop Dogg was onto something when the Rasta-rapper, turned entrepreneur, decided to launch his own, self-branded, celebrity cannabis line here in Colorado, because now several other weed-loving stars have decided to do the exact same. Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa are the two newest celebrity ganjapreneurs to enter into the blazing Colorado cannabis market, and just based off of their publicized experiences and enthusiasm for the plant, you can bet that their products will be nothing short of fire. Need proof? Just check out Wiz’s Instagram page.
Wiz Khalifa is no stranger to Colorado – the Pittsburgh-based rapper and extreme cannabis connoisseur played the XGames here last year, and even taught us all how to properly burn the ganja too. His signature strain will appropriately be called Khalifa Kush, and in true stoner fashion, will be hitting the shelves on April 20, giving potheads just one more reason to celebrate on their favorite holiday. When asked about his strain in a Colorado magazine article, Wiz informed readers that “All kush isn’t kush. The different strains of kush, those are really the ones that vary and change up the most. You can get kind of fooled. That’s why I created Khalifa Kush so I could stop smoking all those weird kushes.” Good to know. Besides his namesake strain, Wiz will also be working with RiverRock Cannabis to launch and brand other products, including concentrates.
Expected to be released sometime during early 2016, Rihanna’s line of weed products, called ‘MaRihanna,’ will feature a series of private strains, as well as a selection of edibles too. The ganja-goddess, originally hailing from Barbados, is excited to go mainstream with her cannabis line, and has already confirmed that some of the selected strains include Karibbean Kush, Haitian Haze and Jamaican High Grade.
With the success that celebs like Snoop and Willie Nelson have had so far pioneering into the pot business, and as more continue to do so, made clear by the launch of RiRi and Wiz’s lines, I wonder which famous face will be next to cash in on the kush?
